i stayed at the sandcastle for the last 2 weeks of my holiday in july 2010 in jamaica along with my mum sister,sister inlaw my 2 kids and neice and nephew and we all had a great time. we rented a private apartment in the A block was really nice soft leather sofas all mod cons the block was was very clean it was cleaned daily. on arrival we were informed by the staff that we were entitled to a free complimentary rum punch which was nice the kids were given fruit punch. the staff were very friendly and Jeff the pool attendant was very friendly and the kids loved him. At night you got that real carribean feel with music and drinks and food served at the pool side whilst at your table. before allowing vistors in the security always rang up to the apartment to check whether we new the visitors. access to the the beach was free and the beach was absolutely lovely clear blue sea and golden sand. the location was superb as it was in the heart of ochi rios town centre so you could walk everywhere. the pool was cleaned twice a day and was safe for the children was clearly marked how deep it was. our apartment overlooked the pool and the hills night view was lovely also had a shower up on the roof top surrounded by excotic plants had indoor shower also. kids made lots as friends as well as my mother really enjoyed my stay and will be returning next year summer to sandcastle

staff are too laid back for my liking.... front desk people are too miserable, if asked a question they would answer you back with a look as if people are stupid... BRING BACK THE OLD MANAGEMENT AND STAFF. Sasha-gaye tries to b nice but you lack intelligence. Makes me wonder if staff have necessary qualifications for their jobs ( NADIA ONE OF THE OLD STAFF IF FANTASTIC)

sand castles whats happened, i have been holidaying in jamaica since 2002, once stayed at fishermans point then each following year sand castles apart from 09 went to barbados, i must say our times at sand castles has always been pleasant, you get what you pay for and manners and respect for each other goes a long way.

we have always found staff friendly yes you do get some that are a little laid back but what can you do every body is different, i would certinly like to know why this hotel has declined and is it true that they can\'t get a license, if due to change in management it has gone down hill its a shame as its in the perfect location for everything in ochi... is it just bad luck or are we sitting ducks... its a sheme

To Be Honest, this does not even deserve a 1, infact far from it. On our second day the apartment was broken into, we have been through quite an ordeal and are now taking legal action. Beware, the staff and security cannot all be trusted and they have not been able to renew their Tourist Board Licence due to continually failing to adhere to the security regulations!! Jamaica is a wonderful island and we cannot let corrupted places like this deter from it\'s unique beauty.

Sandcastles is like home away from home, I have read alot of comments of which I take my chances and go and I had a wonderful experience. The staff are excellent, the food is great and the location is just ideal for all low budget persons....

Just come back we went out of season! staff ace! bar staff fantastic drank loads didn\'t cost alot at all compaired to home. left door to apartment open most of the time up till 3 in the morning. had no problems or worries. only thing I would say the food at the evening sitting could have had a bit more western food for families.Loved it thank you for a fantastic time

Stayed their December 2007 with four friends. Lets get straight to the point, 2 passports stolen, a camera and £1,000. The manager did not seem bothered and told the police that we might be lying the officer then informed us that they have received six separate reports of theft from the hotel. When we told the manager the we were going to write bad reviews ,all of a sudden the passports turned up. The only good staff there were Oswald and Davion.

I have been staying at sandcastle since Nov 1998, which has been great! since management change over this hotel has gradually gone down hill. My Last visit staying was Dec08, with family inc and god if i could turn back the time, the shower was invested with ants, we had no running water for 1whole day! maintenace came to assist us 2 hours later after our call out......staff where too laid back for my liking.... front desk people where to miserable, if asked a question they would answer you back with a look as if people are stupid... BRING BAC THE OLD MANAGEMENT AND STAFF ( NADIA ONE OF THE OLD STAFF IF FANTASTIC)

my stay was excellent,i just came back home a few days now and i wish i was still there, the staff was well trained, the only problem is the lack of security when i got in at 4am tuesday the 9th of dec there was no one there at the desk we walked straight in, so any one could walk in. take away that i will most certainly return to that hotel. also keep rob at your hotel you will have a super fun time. tell rob pauline from trinidad said hi keep up the good work

We are heading there at the beginning of aug and have been to ocho rios before. It\'s a good thing we are \'tight\' with the street urchins and husslers there, should be a good time! (how dare someone be allowed to call people that on a public website? next time learn to be the better person and don\'t paint pictures like that in people\'s minds not everone\'s like that! plus what website allows people to call others that on their website, get some class please, don\'t let others make up opinions before they go themselves!)

we stay at sandcastles nearly every year and i think this hotel is what you make it we go as a family and there is about 16 of us we make our own entertainment and go to the clubs and day trips not with the holliday reps,also we go self catering and buy our drinks from the cash and carry.

I stayed at the from 04/17/08 to 04/23/08. This was my second time to Jamaica and this experience was totally different from the first. I really enjoyed myself. I\'m actually going back in Nov. and I\'m staying at the Sandcastle.

I was also broken into at this hotel in June 2007 and my IPOD was taken, again police took a statement however nothing was resolved! Was a great location and Jamaica is fantastic, have to be careful, would not go back to this hotel however going back to Jamaica!

My husband and I were married in Jamacia. We had a garden wedding @ the sandcastle resort. The staff handled everything it was beautiful. The staff was very courteous and actually helped us with things to do there and gave us the name of one of the greatest tour guides they had. We had a great time and would most definatley stay there again.

i spent an awful bloody time at sandcastles, and the staff were terrible. they only respected the white folks and fraternised with them something chronic. During the day or noght you would get the street urchins or husslers coming inot the hotel grounds, and i never felt safe at all. some of the bar staff tried to rip us off and are a law unto themselves. I know they are stealing by deception on all the drink prices. A guest at this shoddy motel(does not deserve the name Hotel,and should be call CRAP CASTLES)showed me a great big hole in her bedroom wall which was covered up with a large cardboard.
I will write about this disgusting place in the news papaers and will also deicated a website.

I spent 14 days in this resort from 22/02/05-08/03/05 and I have to say the service was excellent. All the staff were extremely helpful and polite and i would definitely stay there again.
